Step 1 - Spooky Twirl Effect

Oooo... Just in time for Halloween! This tutorial is a very easy tutorial, but can teach you something incase you might have to use it in the future. This could be used for almost anything, or even just some small 10% opacity overlay on your graphic. I will be practicing with you a few filter effects along with sharpening.

Step 2 - Scribbles

To start us off with this tutorial all you have to do is grab the pencil tool and start scribbling around. It doesn't matter in what fashion or order it is. Just create one layer, make it black. Create another layer, and scribble on it. You should have 2 layers total.

Step 3 - Filter Radial Blur

After the scribbles is all perfect how you like it, it's time to add a filter effect to it. We will be using the Radial Blur filter. To access this go to Photoshop and find Filters > Blur > Radial Blur. Now use the settings below.

Step 4 - Re-positioning

After you have the "small" radial blur effect, we need to duplicate it so we can make a bigger one. To do this, just simply duplicate the blur layer and move the center a tiny bit away from the other center and reposition the two of them to the middle.

Step 5 - One more twirl

Ok, now for the last twirl. Use the same effects as you did in the first blur. Refer to the image below. Filters > Blur > Radial Blur.

Step 6 - Finalizing & Results

Ok, you can have multiple results in this tutorial, but the above image is my result. At the end you can duplicate and sharpen the layers if you want. Filters > Sharpen > Sharpen. Mess around with it a bit until you get a good looking effect. I hope this tutorial will come in handy ;).
