Start by creating a star shape using custom shape tool.

Press Ctrl+T. Right click the layer and select warp. Adjust nodes to get the shape as shown.

Press Alt key and keep hitting the left arrow key to create 3d extrusion.

Select and merge all the duplicate layers. Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply layer style with the settings shown.

Apply the same layer style to the original star layer.

Select and merge both the star layers. Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply layer style with the settings shown.

Duplicate the layer several times and play around with color modes.

Select and merge all the layers. Duplicate the layer. From filter menu select sketch>>photocopy. Apply settings as shown.

Change the layer mode to color burn.

Duplicate the layer and change the layer mode to overlay.

Merge all the layers. Duplicate the layer and change the layer mode to linear dodge.

From layer menu select new adjustment layer>>hue/saturation. Apply settings as shown.
